Volunteers

Mary Volm spent most of her career as the Marketing Director and spokesperson for the City of Portland and State of Oregon.  She graduated with a degree in psychology from Portland State University in 1981 with highest honors and departmental commendation for outstanding scholarship.   Born here in Portland, Mary has worked on a variety of financial efforts to support public education within the City’s budget primarily under the leadership of Mayor Vera Katz.  In addition, she lead marketing and public relation efforts for countless City initiatives including outreach with under-served populations in our community.  Prior to her government experience, Mary was the Marketing Director for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and worked as a journalist for KGW-TV and freelance for The Oregonian, Time Magazine and other clients.

Nathan L. Price is the Vice President of Wealth Strategies Northwest. He creates financial strategies for individuals and small business owners in the Pacific Northwest, specifically overseeing the retirement income distribution of his firm’s clients. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Management from the Lundquist Honors College of Business at the University of Oregon. After completing his undergraduate requirement, Nathan acquired his Series 7, 66, and 24 licenses. Formerly Nathan was a Regional Vice President of a Fortune 500 company, and supervised over 100 of the West Coast’s top financial advisers.  Nathan provides financial advice and guidance for PDX Summer School.

Andrew Reider is the founder and president of Rieder Information Services. Specializing in online secondary research, Andrew has worked with executives of public, private, and non-profit organizations to help them acquire the information they need to move forward. His passion for knowledge and commitment to research, directly translates into providing the most valuable information to clients.  Andrew provides marketing advice and services for PDX Summer School.

Melia Hinatsu is a graduate of the Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and is a second grade teacher at Irvington Elementary in Portland Public Schools. In Melia’s spare time, she helps PDX Summer School by writing grants.

 

Ashley Dudek is a recent graduate of Washington State University. While there, she did an internship for PDX Summer School. Currently, she is an Associate Claims Manager with Liberty Mutual Insurance.  Ashley continues to volunteer her time by writing grants.
