PDX Summer School has a very simple, qualitative goal: to provide low income, ELL students with the necessary tools to achieve grade level standards. This will enable the students to succeed in school in the fall, thereby allowing them to continue that success throughout the school year. In addition, the families of our students have been appreciative and supportive of the opportunity we provide for their children. This results in more involved and knowledgeable parents during the school year. And it wasn’t just the parents who were excited. We were amazed by how eager many of our students’ friends were to participate!
